Ruby was a young girl that lived in Tylertown, Mississippi, before she moved to New Orleans, Louisiana.
At the time when blacks and whites were separated when they had different water fountains, an different schools. Rubys dad really didn't like that idea that she would be going to an all white school. But her mother wanted her to go to an all white school to get a better education for her daughter so she could have a better life.
